Ill be brief. Requesting the community's help in this.
I have a CAT6 cable pre installed in the apartment and it terminates in the middle perfect position of the apartment. Best place for router placement.
The cable terminates outside in a duct. Now to join the cable with ISP switch we need to install about 50 metres more CAT6 for the connection to reach the switch.
My ISP person says that he can terminate the new cable in the duct and join with the pre installed cable, also terminating in duct to form my seamless home internet connection.
I have doubts about this method. How can the 2 cables be joined? Do I go for an RJ45 coupler, or should we go for joining different points by twisting the copper and insulating by electrical tape method.
The ISP person says that coupler will increase the ping interval in the connection and will result in slower speeds, and that joining by tape will ensure performance.
Please help on how to join 2 CAT6 cables
